Faye Valentine's Story

.
(Heavy spoilers for Cowboy Bebop)
Faye was born in Singapore in 1994 to a wealthy family. Aged 20, she was in an accident along with her parents and her body was too damaged to be saved at the time so she was cryogenically frozen and remained that way for 54 years.
She was awakened in 2069 by a con artist doctor and saddled with a medical debt of 300 Million Woolongs (currency of that time and a lot of money). She had no memory of who she was. A fake lawyer worked with the doctor to con her romantically leaving her with more debt. This was a world where Earth was mostly destroyed due to an incident with an astral gate and was now sparsely inhabited. The rest of the solar system was colonized. In three years, Faye’s debts and a dystopian world forced her into going from a shy, naive girl to a con artist, relying on her sexuality and surviving on the run from debtors. Through all this, she kept trying to figure out who she had been before she was frozen. In 2071, she came aboard the spaceship Bebop and began working as a bounty hunter along with the Captain of the ship ex-cop Jet Black and his associate Spike Spiegel, who used to be a gangster with the Red Dragon Syndicate. The crew was later joined by a teenaged hacker called Radical Edward. They also have a corgi called Ein who is a highly-advanced ‘data dog’ though none of them knows that.As a person, she is very high on mistrust and kept running away from the ship often only to return each time. The crew went through multiple adventures together and built dysfunctional bonds. At one point, Faye received a video tape anonymously of her as a young girl she couldn’t recognise.Eventually, Spike’s past caught up with him. Around the same time, Faye’s memories returned and she went back to her home in Singapore only to find it completely demolished with no sign of her family.
Simultaneously, Ed left the ship and, shortly after, Spike went to deal with his past which was a big shock to both Faye and Jet as she realised the ship was where she truly belonged all along. Spike’s fate is unknown at the end of the series.
